Xiaohongshu and Ipsos have launched the Makeup Insight Report of Xiaohongshu in Mid-2020, analyzing the changes in the beauty makeup industry based on big data. The report shows that the beauty makeup industry has been influenced negatively by COVID-19 from January to March. However, cosmetic retail sales quickly returned to positive growth in April. Currently, there are over 100 million monthly active users on Xiaohongshu. In the first half-year of 2020, the beauty makeup creators of Xiaohongshu increased by 192% year-on-year, and the overall volume of beauty makeup notes increased by 108% year-on-year. It is worth noting that the video playback amount in Xiaohongshu increased by 113% year-on-year, which provided abundant support for the brand development of Xiaohongshu.
