Wuhu-headquartered, Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer Chery held a conference last month to launch the @LIFE Platform, focused on presales of its electric vehicles. The @LIFE Platform announced its first pure electric SUV, Chery Ant, in Beijing on September 22. This is a new high-end flagship model launched by Chery Group to accelerate its strategic layout in the NEV field. The new car will be available in four versions, with different features according to the price. The vehicle has a maximum NEDC cruising range of 510km and a top speed of 170km/h. The SUV is priced at CNY 149,800 (after subsidies). The sales growth of China's new energy vehicle market has shown noticeable change over the past months. According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, sales of NEVs exceeded 100,000 last month, a year-on-year increase of 43.7% and a month-on-month increase of 23.9%. In the NEV sales ranking list, Chery eQ ranked fifth with monthly sales of 3,307 vehicles, behind Tesla Model 3, Hongguang MINI, Aion S and Euler R1. After failing to go public in 2016, Chery New Energy, according to Chinese media channel 36kr, is preparing for a second IPO attempt.
