According to a report released by TF Securities on October 15, the entry price of the locally manufactured Tesla Model Y is expected to drop to CNY 275,000, with monthly sales expected to reach 30,000.
The report stated that, from the perspective of Tesla's overseas pricing strategy, the price difference between Model Y and Model 3 is only 6-9%. The main reason is that Tesla needs to quickly accumulate data to improve its autonomous driving and software systems and eventually form a Tesla ecology.
Currently, Tesla is accelerating the expansion of the Model Y manufacturing section in its Shanghai Gigafactory. According to Teslarati, the Shanghai Gigafactory's production line has been updated and may set a new production record in the fourth quarter of this year.
According to the information on Tesla's official website in China, the China-made Model Y will be launched in two versions, a long-battery life version and a performance version. The current estimated prices are CNY 488,000 and CNY 535,000, respectively. The official stated specifically that this price is only an estimate, and the actual cost is subject to regulatory approval, which will lead to the final announced price.
