In response to US sanctions and export bans, Huawei has developed its operating system, Harmony. Now rumors have surfaced that Huawei wants to open its new platform to other Chinese smartphone manufacturers. It could make sense for Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo to prevent possible future trade war problems. However, Harmony OS was mainly developed for Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin processors and does not currently run on other chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek.
