Recently, the State Key Laboratory of high field laser physics, Shanghai Institute of Optics and precision mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made a breakthrough in the research of miniaturized free electron laser based on laser accelerator by using ultra intense and ultra short laser device. The typical laser wavelength is 27nm, the shortest laser wavelength can reach 10nm level, and the single pulse energy can reach 100nj level. The international team is the first to complete the experimental verification of the principle of desktop free electron laser, which is of great significance for the development of miniaturized and low-cost free electron laser.
