The Fortune Global 500 list was released on August 2. The operating revenue of the world's top 500 enterprises was about US $31.7 trillion, down 5% from last year. Wal Mart became the world's largest company for the eighth consecutive year, China's State Grid Corporation rose to the second place, Amazon entered the top three for the first time, and apple advanced to the sixth place. In terms of profitability, apple topped the list with a profit of $57.4 billion. Saudi Aramco followed, ranking second with a profit of about US $49.3 billion.
