According to Western media reports on the 19th local time, the Spanish Ministry of health began to prepare procedures for approving the purchase of a large number of traditional smallpox vaccines to prevent a possible outbreak of monkeypox. It is reported that the smallpox vaccine planned to be purchased in the country is manufactured by a laboratory in Denmark. The European Drug Administration authorized the use of the vaccine against traditional smallpox diseases in 2013. The vaccine also helps to prevent the spread of monkeypox virus. The Spanish Ministry of health plans to use the smallpox vaccine only for close contacts with monkeypox cases.
