The public health laboratory of the Department of health and mental health in New York said in a statement on the 20th local time that after testing for monkeypox virus in two suspected patients, one of them was negative and the other was positive. However, the final diagnosis must be obtained after the CDC completes the test. The positive patient is currently being quarantined and may become the second known native monkeypox case in the United States in 2022. The CDC called on Americans not to panic and is investigating at least six other suspected monkeypox cases. These six people all took the same flight with a confirmed monkeypox patient at the beginning of this month, but they have no symptoms at present. They are in good physical condition and the possibility of diagnosis is low.
