The patent war between Ningde times and China Innovation Airlines (formerly known as AVIC lithium battery) escalated this week. On May 23, Ningde times confirmed that it had applied to the court to increase the amount of patent infringement compensation, requiring China Innovation airlines to compensate more than 510 million yuan. Ningde times previously claimed 185 million yuan. According to the prospectus released by China Innovation airlines in March this year, Ningde times sued the company for infringing a total of five battery related patents. The defendant of one patent is AVIC lithium battery (Luoyang) Co., Ltd., which was originally a subsidiary of AVIC and has no equity relationship with AVIC at present. Last year, China Innovation Airlines filed an invalidation request for the above five patents with the State Intellectual Property Office. According to the interface news query, the State Intellectual Property Office has made examination decisions on two patents involved in litigation: the patents of "explosion-proof device" in Ningde era remain fully valid, and the patents of "current collecting components and batteries" remain partially valid. Interface news also learned from people familiar with the matter that China Innovation Airlines has withdrawn its patent invalidation request for "power battery top cover structure and power battery". The invalidation requests of the remaining two patents are still in the examination process of the State Intellectual Property Office. Ningde times confirmed the above information to the interface news. As of press time, China Innovation Airlines did not respond to this matter.
