The Korean government announced the formation of a working group on the 24th to discuss how to deal with issues such as aging and low fertility. South Korean planning and finance ministry officials said that the government intends to provide more incentive mechanisms to encourage people to marry and raise children in order to slow down the trend of population decline. Several departments and expert groups will evaluate the current policies and propose new strategies, which are expected to be released in July.
