The Egyptian presidential palace issued a statement on the 26th that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi met with visiting UAE Minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation Abdullah in Cairo on the same day. The two sides mainly discussed the UAE's investment in Egypt, involving energy, transportation, ports, tourism and other fields. According to the data previously released by the Egyptian Ministry of trade and industry, the trade volume between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates in 2021 exceeded US $3.6 billion. At present, the UAE's total investment in Egypt has reached 20billion US dollars, which is expected to increase to 35billion US dollars within five years. In May this year, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan announced the launch of a joint initiative of an integrated industrial partnership aimed at promoting sustainable economic development to deepen economic cooperation among the three countries and ensure food security in the short term.
