Tencent proactively exited non-core businesses, tightened marketing expenses and cut operating expenses, said in according to its Q2 2022 financial report. This move enabled them to achieve non-IFRS earnings growth sequentially despite pressured revenue. Going forward, Tencent will focus on improving business efficiency and adding new revenue streams, including the launch of infomercials on their video platforms, while continuing to drive innovation through R&D.
