As measured by the data centre of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, 52,713,400 domestic tourism trips were made during the 2023 New Year's Day holiday, an increase of 0.44% YoY, recovering to 42.8% of the same period of the 2019 New Year's Day holiday on a comparable basis. Domestic tourism revenue during the holiday was CNY26.517 billion, up 4.0% year-on-year, recovering to 35.1% of the same period of the New Year's Day holiday in 2019. The data showed that China's national continuous accommodation orders accounted for a 341% increase during New Year's Day. In particular, cities with relatively warm temperatures, such as Xishuangbanna and Sanya, saw bookings for B&Bs with stays of three days or more increase more than six times compared to last year.
