Xpeng Motors Goes Deep into Autopilot
HE Xiaopeng said that Xpeng Motors would surpass the self-driving experience of Tesla and Volvo in China within months.
HE Xiaopeng, chairman of Xpeng Motors, posted a message on the social media platform recently said that the company's self-driving data report shows that the longest distance a car owner can use ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) self-driving is 161 km.
“The company's LCC autonomous driving will carry out its OTA upgrade. As the only company in China doing autonomous driving and vehicle monthly upgrade, it will significantly surpass Tesla and Volvo's autonomous driving experience in China within a few months.” HE also said.
ACC is an available cruise control system for road vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. ACC technology is widely regarded as a key component of any future generations of intelligent cars.
Its impact driver safety and convenience as well as the increasing capacity of roads by maintaining optimal separation between vehicles and reducing driver errors. Adaptive cruise control does not provide full autonomy: the system only provides some help to the driver but does not drive the car by itself.
Xpeng Motors claims that their goal is to significantly surpass Tesla and Volvo in self-driving experiences on China's roads within months.
Xpeng recently showed off its data on intelligence. In terms of voice interaction, its voice assistant "little P" was awakened more than 4,353 million times, the ACC test completed 511,184 million kilometres, the automatic parking system triggered 28,860 tests.
In addition, OTA is also an important way for Xpeng to enhance its intelligent experience. Its G3 model has been upgraded through OTA, with more than 40 new functions and more than 200 function optimization and upgrading.
Xpeng's first mass production model, G3 is equipped with 20 sensors, including 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 high-definition cameras and 3 millimetre-wave radars. It can accurately identify roads, vehicles, pedestrians and obstacles, and feed them back to the smart chip, so as to obtain an auto-assisted driving and multi-scene automatic parking scheme more suitable for Chinese road conditions. Its sedan model, the P7, is said to achieve L3 autonomous driving.
