TuSimple Gets Another Road Test License

TuSimple received the domestic first driverless truck open road test license in October 2018

TuSimple issued an official statement saying the company received its third open road test license for the autonomous truck on May 30, 2019.  The company will continue to test autonomous trucks on open roads in the port area of Shanghai and accelerate the commercialization of autonomous vehicles. 

Founded in September 2015, TuSimple is an artificial intelligence enterprise, focusing on the independent research and development of large freight truck autonomous driving system, with more than 400 employees in Beijing, Shanghai, Hebei and California and Arizona.

TuSimple began self-driving commercial operations on the U.S. i-10 highway in August 2018. In October 2018, the company obtained the first license for the public road test of driverless trucks in China and put it into trial in the port area of Shanghai.

In April 2019, TuSimple was successfully selected as one of the first batches of artificial intelligence pilot application scenarios in Shanghai, and the driverless rail combined transportation between Yangshan port and Luchao port freight railway station will be carried out in Donghai bridge.
