TAL Education Group Consolidates B2B and B2C Divisions due to Budget Constraint
Xueersi Qingke, TAL's online learning platform designed for children aged 6-12, has been merged from the Content Products Division into the Internet Service Division and has stopped developing new clients. The company also set a more rigorous appraisal system for the newly formed division. Meanwhile, due to the restructuring, staff from the sales department have been laid off. According to a current employee, the overall budgets have been tightening since the outbreak of COVID-19 and the merger was expected. The adjustment made by the parent company is also considered as a positive response to the disclosure of the operational fraud committed by its previous employee last month.
