On July 3, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) announced the freeze of the release of 16 NR (New Radio) Specifications, marking the completion of the first release of 5G technologies.

According to Strategy Analytics, Huawei has contributed the most to the 3GPP 5G specifications, marking its dominant position in the following rollout and market shares in terms of equipment and devices.

Globally, 5G has ushered in a new stage of the scaled rollout. As the product of collaboration and knowledge from all industry partners, the 16 NR release frames the 5G standard specifications that are capable of providing higher performance and full-service support. "It will meet expectations and play an essential role in promoting digital transformation across various industries," Huawei stated in the press release.
