For her contribution at WIM2020, Rebecca will share with the audience a keynote speech about the technological transformation of business in times of crisis.
Rebecca has a background of more than twenty years in banking and other industries. She has an MBA degree from Sandford University’s Graduate School of Business and also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Business Valuators designations. Some of the most remarkable professional experiences were at McKinney & Company, Merrill Lynch & Canadian FLS where she worked in the areas of strategy, retail channel analytics, and corporate development.
In these times, when companies are facing a state of uncertainty, small businesses may be the most affected. Nevertheless, innovators and startups are also leading the development of new technologies to overcome the crisis. In this field, Rebecca has shared some perceptions about this subject and she mentions that small businesses should focus their strategy on the short-term. However, they need to consider three essential points: “Re-think the budget, find new opportunities and be okay not having all the answers.” Her expertise in the investment industry leads us to grasp that today firms should evaluate the future when they are modeling the budget. Further, it is worth taking into consideration the business position in a post-recovery environment and to examine what are the other industry improvements in terms of technology.
The changes in the tech ecosystem are imminent and financial industry digitalization is driving a transformation in this area. The pandemic has boosted the inclusion of traditional sectors into the technological revolution, as in the case of financial services. The implementation of Artificial Intelligence, Cloud computing, and Automation have unbolted a new infrastructure and the inclusion of more customers. In a nutshell, the new normal has sped up the growth of IT companies and brings new opportunities for innovators.
