According to Geely, this adjustment is a normal rotation arrangement for high-level officials within the group.

According to Chinese media channel 36kr, Chinese auto-titan Geely made internal adjustments on August 27. Feng Qingfeng has been shifted from Geely's marketing depertment and now serves as the director and global CEO of Lotus Group, responsible for its global business development. Feng's previous position has been taken over by Lin Jie, vice president of Geely Automobile Group and general manager of the sales department. 

Relevant personnel of Geely Automobile stated to Chinese media outlet auto-time that "This year the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the globalization of most auto companies. Geely Group has decided to shift Feng Qingfeng to Lotus in order to accelerate its development."

According to Geely’s official sales data, Geely’s sales in July were 105,218 vehicles, an increase of approximately 15% year-on-year. The total sales volume from January to July was 635,664 vehicles, completing 45% of the 1.41 million annual sales target.

Lotus is a luxury high-performance automobile brand strategically invested in by Geely Group. It has maintained a leading position in the research and development and manufacturing of high-performance sports cars. It is an important chess piece in the overall development strategy of Geely Group. 

Geely officials have said that in the future, Lotus will keep focusing on high-performance sports cars, while also looking for opportunities for global expansion.
