At the Huawei Developer Conference 2020, the company released its latest mobile service system, HMS Core 5.0, as a successor to the HMS Core 4.0 released at the beginning of the year. Here are five areas we highlight in the GMS alternative.

As the presenter, Huawei's president of Consumer Cloud Service, Zhang Ping'an commented: "There are be two types of smartphones in the world: GMS smartphones and HMS smartphones," Huawei's dedication of its sufficient software ecosystem is well-presented in the Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) Core 5.0 release on the Huawei Developer Conference 2020. The release of HMS Core 5.0 is accompanied by seven fully open-sourced application areas. The following are five highlights of HMS.
Payment service engine
Compared to 2019, the Huawei payment service users grew by 619%, of which the bank card-based service covers over 170 countries and regions globally. Besides the basic payment functions, Huawei's virtual currency has reached over 120 countries and regions.
Advertisement engine
Huawei Ads is the ad engine, which offers advertisement and traffic enhancement services to the HMS developers. As Ping'an reveals, there has been over 3100 apps connected to Huawei Ads outside China since its inception in January 2020.
Browser engine
The browser engine in Huawei Mobile Service has reached 330 million MAUs. Based on Huawei browser's accurate searching algorithm, the browsing engine service empowers its business partners and developers with information and service distribution.
HMS Map kit
With the points of information (POI) increased from 30 million in 2019 to 180 million in 2020, the HMS map kit will further open the source to the developers with 11 functions to build full-scenario applications. Currently, over 2,000 apps outside China are integrated with HMS map kit, among which apps in Europe take 47% of the total, followed by the Asia Pacific of 28%.
Petal search engine
HMS's search engine will be aligned with a 'Mobile First' strategy, which currently covers over 170 countries and regions and is capable of presentation in over 50 languages. Over 20 vertical industries will be on the search engine, covering shopping, news, apps, travels and knowledge.
