We are delighted to announce that Hao Shen is confirmed to speak at WIM 2020. He will be speaking about ‘How Technology is Re-shaping Human Development’ in the chapter on Technology and Innovation Leadership. “We expect that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will bring us a better future for the media, ushering in a real intelligent media era with the help of technology,” Shen has previously stated in a speech on AI’s influence on the media.
WIM Welcomes Hao Shen, Chief Scientist at Big Data Center, State Key Lab of Media
On December 9-12, 2020, EqualOcean will host this year's World Innovators Meet (WIM). WIM2020 will take on a bolder stance and adopt a more global outlook by taking the form of an online conference that will be streamed simultaneously in all countries and regions that champion the realm of technology and innovation.
During the World Innovators Meet, the WIM Committee will release the annual blockbuster WIA list, the World Innovation Awards, based on our annual industry and investment research findings, together with a series of research reports.
Shen is the Chief Scientist at the Big Data Center, State Key Lab of Media Integration and Communications. He is also a professor and PhD supervisor of the School of Journalism of Communication University of China. Shen's study focuses on the smart media that merges AI and big data. The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic brought the fact to light that big data and AI are playing important roles in the fight against the pandemic, with factors such as CT scans of patients' lungs, urban health codes, disinfection equipment and many more coming into play at once.
Therefore, Shen believes that AI can have a far-reaching influence on healthcare and other core elements of human life. In the future, data literacy, technical literacy and human literacy will be introduced into our lives and normalized. Data literacy refers to the ability to manage big data flows; technical literacy means the ability to understand how machines work; and human literacy is the ability to grasp communication, art and design.
At WIM2020, Shen will discuss the implications of AI on the use of smart media, and shed new insights on how AI is shaping humanity's future under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
