SMIC Gets Permission to Provide Chips to US Enterprises

On March 2, 2021, SMIC's mature nodes products were allowed to provide to American companies. According to the report released by Morgan Stanley, U.S. equipment suppliers have recently resumed the supply of spare parts and on-site services to SMIC, which alleviates companies' concerns about the after-sales services of SMIC.

 SMIC said that although the uncertainty still exists, the company always adheres to the operation in accordance with the law and promises that the company's production and operation will not be adversely affected. At the same time, the company will do its best to continue to work with global industry chain partners and continue its expansion plan. Qualcomm still insists on cooperating with SMIC due to the PMIC supply shortage. Some Taiwan chip manufacturers such as MediaTek and Realtek Semiconductor are also seeking more production capacity from SMIC. SMIC's revenue is expected to grow by 10% - 15% in 2021.
