SAIC-GM-Wuling's Hongguang Mini EV maintained its position as the top-selling new energy vehicle model in China, with sales of 29,706 units, according to data released Wednesday by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

The Tesla Model Y came in second with 12,728 sales, and the Model 3 was third with 9,208 sales.
The GAC Aion S was fifth with 6,752 sales, and the BYD Han EV was sixth with 5,763 sales.
Li Auto's Li ONE ranked 9th with 4323 units sold, XPeng Motors' XPeng P7 ranked 10th with 3797 units sold, and NIO ES6 ranked 15th with 3017 units sold.
In terms of cumulative sales in the first five months, the Hongguang Mini EV ranked first with 128,796 units sold, the Model 3 ranked second with 68,330 units sold, and the Model Y ranked third with 34,557 units sold.
BYD Han EV ranked fourth with 32,862 units sold, Li ONE ranked 9th with 2,241 units sold, and XPeng P7 ranked 10th with 14,766 units sold.
The NIO ES6 was 12th with 14,268 units sold and the EC6 was 13th with 12,154 units sold in the first five months.
Retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles in China reached 185,000 units in May, up 177.2 percent year-on-year and 17.4 percent from April, according to data released by The CPCA on Tuesday.
Wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 196,000 units in May, up 174.2 percent year-on-year and up 6.7 percent from April.
