HUD is the next automotive intelligent function module?
Shanghai-based self-driving developer Motovis (Chinese: 魔视智能) announced the completion of the Series C funding round, receiving hundreds of millions of CNY from Continental and other investors.
Based on the strategic agreement, the two firms will engineer intelligent and cost-optimized driving solutions in China.
Incorporated in 2015, Motovis provides assist driving solutions covering passenger vehicles and business fleets, such as forward-collision warning system (FCW) and lane departure warning system (LDW).
Continental considered that highly localized development is the core strategy of the company's autonomous driving and mobility group. This will not only introduce the latest technology to China, but also use China's innovation to drive research and development globally. "We are committed to creating high-performance, high-quality autonomous driving solutions to China's driving scene."
According to Motovis, the systems designed by the two parties can cover from low-cost models to premium models of passenger cars, supporting mainstream chip platforms. The company's systems, including automatic parking assist (APA), autonomous valet parking (AVP) and navigation on pilot (NOP) have been tested by several passenger car makers. The earlier adoption will be in 2022. Besides, Motovis's products have been used on commercial models of Dongfeng, Shaanxi Automobile and others.
Motovis' competitors include Maxieye (Chinese: 智驾科技), Yihang.ai (Chinese: 易航智能) and G-PAL (Chinese: 几何伙伴).
