Koutech Medical Robotics (Chinese: 昂泰微精医疗科技有限公司), an ultra-micro and high-precision surgical robot platform company, has recently completed a new round of financing worth hundreds of millions of CNY in Series A round. Qiming Venture Partners (Chinese: 启明创投) led this fund, followed by Proxima Ventures (Chinese: 比邻星创投), DNE Capital (Chinese: 东久新宜资本), Shanghai Lingang Life Blue Bay Fund (Chinese: 临港蓝湾基金), Winfast Holding (Chinese: 瑞华控股) and Koutech’s angel round investor TF Capital (Chinese: 泰福资本). Life Venture (Chinese: 生命资本) served as the exclusive financial advisor.
Koutech is committed to creating the first ultra-micro and high-precision surgical robot platform facing global markets. While continuing to improve core technologies of its general-purpose microsurgical robots, ophthalmic surgical robots, and gastrointestinal endoscopy robots, Koutech will explore more application scenarios that support micro-operations, further iterate its surgical robot product pipeline, and develop from single technology applications to a technological ecology.
According to Koutech, its micro-surgery solution can help doctors overcome the impacts of hand tremors and significantly reduce doctors’ fatigue and learning curves, thereby improving the accuracy and quality of surgery. The company’s general-purpose microsurgical robot can cover otolaryngology, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery and assist existing medical robots in completing surgical procedures with high requirements for precision. Currently, general-purpose microsurgery and ophthalmology surgery robots have begun to prepare inspection documentation, which is expected to submit within this year, and the gastrointestinal endoscopy robots will submit next year.
The surgical robot enterprises that obtained financing this year include Ganymed Robotics, Leading Micros (Chinese: 衔微医疗), Lung Health (Chinese: 朗合医疗), Levita Magnetics, AiM Medical Robotics, Shu Rui (Chinese: 术锐技术) and Rain Med (Chinese: 润迈德医疗).
