DEEP Robotics(Chinese:杭州云深处科技有限公司), a technology company dedicated to developing and applying quadruped robots, announced the completion of Series B funding round, led by FG Venture, with participation by XHVC. Existing shareholders Cybernaut also built on their original investment.
DEEP Robotics has mastered the critical core technologies of quadruped robot motion control and intelligent perception, with a number of independent controllable intellectual property rights, and the relevant models have been put into use in electric power, tunnel, fire fighting, security, and other fields.
The money will be used to strengthen the team, product development, and other business aspects.
Zhu Qiuguo, the founder and CEO of DEEP Robotics, said that quadruped robots could work in complex, harsh, and dangerous environments instead of humans. This is both the future industry trend and the basic logic of DEEP Robotics in developing products.
Quadruped robots have been developed for decades. Compared with wheeled robots, quadruped robots are more flexible and agile, with better movement speed and the ability to cross obstacles. Compared with humanoid robots, they have better balance and are simpler to design, produce and maintain. These advantages have made it a hot topic of research and development for many technology companies worldwide.
DEEP Robotics has already started volume delivery of products from the end of 2021. Meanwhile, it has jointly designed a quadruped robot fire detection solution with the fire department. It expects to start batch delivery of products within a year to achieve commercialization in this field. In the future, the robot application scenario of DEEP Robotics will be expanded to such fields as petrochemical, natural gas pipeline, coal exploration, and so on.
DEEP Robotics's international competitors include Boston Dynamics(US) and Anybotics(Switzerland), and domestic ones include Unitree (Chinese:宇树科技), Dogotix(Chinese:多够机器人), and Tencent(00700.HK, Chinese:腾讯).
