Founded in 2019, vivLaser mainly focuses on the research and development, production, and sales of high-power semiconductor lasers. The core products include solid-state laser pump sources, kilowatt-level semiconductor lasers, and medical cosmetology and industrial processing applications.
The money will be mainly used for developing and producing a kilowatt-level semiconductor laser (from 1 kilowatt to 10 thousand watts) series of products. The products will be applied in laser welding and surface treatment.
Cai Wanshao, the founder and CEO of vivLaser, said that the next 3-5 years would be an essential time window for the domestic replacement of laser chips and a critical opportunity for the innovation and development of semiconductor lasers.
According to Emergent Research, the global semiconductor laser market size was USD 8.19 billion (about CNY 55.19 billion) in 2021 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.7% during 2022 to 2030.
With product innovation as the breakthrough point, vivLaser adopts domestic chips and takes the lead in developing semiconductor lasers with a narrow spectrum of 878.6nm lock wavelength and 1440nm two-dimensional lattice laser in China. In the field of solid-state laser pumps and laser skin rejuvenation and beauty, it has broken the monopoly of foreign companies and realized the replacement of domestic products. At present, the product has gradually increased in volume.
vivLaser's international competitors include QD Laser(Japan) and Coherent(US), and domestic ones include Focus Light(688167.SH, Chinese:炬光科技), Raybow Opto(Chinese:瑞波光电), and BWT(Chinese:北京凯普林光电科技股份有限公司).
