INNOVISION(Chinese:诺视科技), a Micro-LED display chip solutions provider, completed Pre-Series A financing round worth tens of millions of CNY, led by Peakview Capital. Existing shareholders also continued to increase their investments.
INNOVISION is a start-up focusing on Micro-LED display chip solutions. It has broken through the physical limits of Pixels miniaturization in the microdisplay field with Vertically Stacked Pixels(VSP) technology, creating extremely high-performance microdisplay chips.
The money will be mainly used for product development iterations, company operations, and equipment procurement.
Wang Yazhou, founder and CEO of INNOVISION, said that INNOVISION is based on the silicon substrate solution and integrates the mature stacking technology in the Micro-LED and integrated circuit, breaking through the industry barriers and achieving the unification of the two technology routes at the chip product level. It is also the first feasible plan to unify the two technological routes in China.
At this stage, the Micro-LED industry still has obvious industry pain points. Performance and cost are still obstacles to the large-scale commercial implementation of Micro-LED. According to GGII, by 2025, the global Micro-LED market scale will exceed USD 3.5 billion and enter a period of rapid growth. By 2027, the global Micro-LED market scale is expected to exceed USD 10 billion.
VSP technology, independently developed by INNOVISION, realizes the miniaturization of pixels by stacking multiple layers of materials in the vertical direction and can improve the luminance of red light through stacking, fundamentally solving the main technical difficulties in the field of Micro-LED. At present, the INNOVISION team is rapidly iterating the core technology to provide an all-around guarantee for promoting the commercialization of Micro-LED.
INNOVISION's international competitors include MICLEDI(Belgium) and Porotech(UK), and domestic ones include Raysolve (Chinese:镭昱半导体), Epistar(Chinese:晶元光电), and Hc Semitek Corporation(300323.SZ, Chinese:华灿光电).
