Jingneng Microelectronics, a Geely-backed semiconductor manufacturer, successfully completed its pre-A round of financing according to an announcement made by the company. The funds raised will be primarily used for the R&D of power semiconductor products, construction of product lines and talent acquisition of Jingneng's technical team.

On December 15th, Jingneng Microelectronics (Chinese: 晶能微电子) announced that it successfully completed its pre-A round of financing without specifying the amount raised. This investment was led by Walden International (Chinese: 华登国际) and followed by Vision Knight Capital (Chinese: 嘉御资本), Gaorong Capital (Chinese: 高榕资本) and Volfone (Chinese: 沃丰实业).

The funds raised will be primarily used for the R&D of power semiconductor products, construction of product lines and hiring of Jingneng's technical team.

Founded in June 2022, Jingneng Microelectronics, a chip unit affiliated with the private automaker Geely Holding Group’s (Chinese: 吉利集团), has already developed various products such as automotive-grade insulated gate bipolar transistors and silicon-carbide devices in support of various application scenarios including new energy vehicles, electric motorcycles, photovoltaic and energy storage.

Yunpin Pan, CEO of Jingneng Microelectronics stated that, through constructing a "chip-auto connection" mechanism, capturing demand and development of technology, Jingneng MIcroelectronics will continue to build its core abilities in terms of chip design, module manufacturing and automotive-grade regulations and provide cost-effective services for clients from the aforementioned application scenarios. Next year we will witness a multiple products' loading onto vehicles.
