In 2022, the keyword of the auto industry is ‘new energy’. CAAM (Chinese: 中汽协) expects that total auto sales in China will reach 26.8 million units in 2022, up 2% year-on-year; among them, 6.7 million new energy vehicles will be sold, up 90.3% year-on-year.
In the face of the rapid development of the new energy vehicle market, the products of the six brands of Great Wall Motor will continue to improve. The person in charge of GWM said, "In 2023, GWM will fully develop new energy and is expected to launch more than 10 new energy vehicles."
As for the performance of GWM sales, Qimu Hu, chief researcher of Sinosteel Economic Research Institute (Chinese: 中钢经济研究院), said : "As China is the world's largest auto sales market, the impact of the domestic epidemic has caused GWM to experience a decline in sales; meanwhile, overseas markets continue to recover after the liberalization of controls in the first half of 2022, so overseas sales rose year-on-year. This is also directly related to the GWM's efforts to increase the layout of overseas markets in recent years."
