SynSense (Chinese: 时识科技), a leading global provider of brain-like intelligence and application solutions, announced that it has recently successfully closed a nearly USD 10 million Pre-B+ round of financing.

This round of funding is led by Ausvic Capital (Chinese: 盈信泰资本) and will be used to advance the mass production delivery of SynSense's Speck, the world's first "sensory-computing" dynamic visual intelligence SoC, and original technology development to accelerate the provision of new brain-like edge computing solutions for smart home, smart security, smart farming, autonomous driving, drones and other fields.

The huge amount of computing energy consumption has become one of the main bottlenecks of AI, while brain-like perception and computing has features such as ultra-low power consumption at the milliwatt level and ultra-low latency at the millisecond level, which can help reduce cloud computing dependency and achieve quantum improvement in computing energy efficiency at the device side.

SynSense has been developing brain-like technology for more than 20 years. Currently, the SynSense brain-like vision chip Speck has become the world's first dynamic vision brain-like chip in commercial mass production. In addition, Xylo, an ultra-low-power brain-like processor, will be mass-produced in the second half of the year. Its intelligent perception processing technologies such as sound, pressure, IMU, and smell have made breakthroughs in the application of consumer electronics, smart wearables, and industrial testing.
