Hengshi Technology (Chinese: 衡石科技), a BI platform for business intelligence, has completed a Series A+ funding round of tens of millions of RMB invested solely by its long-term shareholder Ivy Capital. This round of funding will be used for further product development and market expansion.
Founded in 2016, Hengshi Technology is a BI PaaS company that provides data analytics and BI infrastructure capabilities to SaaS vendors, ISVs, and vertical industry solution providers in the form of Data Analytics Infra. It also supports customers' cloud and private deployment requirements.
According to Mr. Chengzhong Liu, Founder and CEO of Hengshi Technology, the main progress the company has made since the last round of financing is that it has built a more mature and stable product form and completed PMF (Product Market Fit) by serving more than 100 SaaS/ISV customers.
From the past development history, Hengshi's product evolution has gone through the stage of focusing on BI capability to BI capability and data capability at the same time. In the recently released new version of HENGSHI SENSE 4.3, Hengshi Technology has introduced the metrics middle platform. By adding metrics management layer between data layer and BI visualization layer, HENGSHI has built a three-layer product form of "data capability + metrics capability + BI analysis capability".
Talking about the logic of product development, Chengzhong Liu said, "Hengshi wants to make standardized and non-customized products, so we need to focus on two core points. First, the product capability boundary should be complete enough to cover the whole life cycle of data management, including data aggregation, data preparation, modeling and analysis, visualization, and final result release and integration; second, it must be friendly enough for business personnel".
In Hengshi Technology's view, the significance of the Metrics Middle Desk for end customers is that the business side can truly enter the work part of data analysis and BI. Enterprise IT staff can build a dedicated metrics library based on various types of data, centrally manage the metrics, and improve responsiveness to business needs. Based on the metrics library, business personnel can retrieve the relevant metrics on demand without knowing the specific data set in which the metrics are located, and build the analysis model and complete the subsequent data analysis independently through simple operations such as editing and dragging the metrics.
