According to the latest "MicroLED Display Technology and Market Outlook Report" released by DSCC agency, the market for MicroLED displays is still small, but it is expected to reach USD 1.30 billion by 2027. Reducing manufacturing costs will be necessary before MicroLED can compete with other technologies, such as OLED.

According to the Yole report, JBD is the first company in the world to realize the mass production and shipment of MicroLED, and it is also the only company to realize the monetization of MicroLED micro-display. At present, the JBD Phase II plant in Hefei China has entered the production stage, and the MicroLED micro-display capacity will reach 120 million per year. Li Qian (李黔), secretary of the board of directors and general manager of the investment office of BYD (比亚迪), said that in the field of MicroLED, JBD's technical capabilities are in an internationally leading position, and BYD will work with JBD to promote the application of MicroLED in AR, automotive and other fields.

In the overseas and Chinese markets, the number of companies laying out MicroLED is large. Representative companies in China include BOE (京东方), Sanan Optoelectronics (三安光电), HC SemiTek (华灿光电), TCL (华星光电). Internationally, LG and Samsung in South Korea, Sony and Sharp in Japan, VerLASE and Compound Photonics in the United States, Porotech in the United Kingdom, and Aledia in France are quite powerful.

JBD's A3 + financing was jointly led by BYD, the Intellectual Property Fund under Shanghai Science & Technology Venture Capital (Group) Co, Ltd (上海科创集团旗下知识产权基金), and GF Qianhe (广发乾和); the A4 round was led by Ali (阿里), Geely (吉利)and V Star Capital (星源资本). The old shareowners of the two rounds of financing continued to up the ante.
