BMF Precision Tech Inc. (重庆摩方精密科技股份有限公司), a 3D printing manufacturer in Chongqing China, recently announced the completion of a D-round financing of CNY 160 million.
1
BMF was established in 2016. It is a global provider of micro-nano-scale 3D printing technology and precision machining capabilities, focusing on the manufacture of high-precision micro-nano 3D printing systems and materials, and providing 3D printing services and small batch processing. BMF 3D printing equipment adopts surface projection micro-stereolithography (PμSL: Projection Micro Stereolithography, 面投影微立体光刻) technology, which uses a high-precision UV lithography projection system to project the pattern to be printed onto the liquid surface of the resin tank, solidify the resin at the liquid surface and rapid micro-stereoscopic molding, directly process three-dimensional complex models and samples from digital models, and complete the production of samples.
As a pioneer and leader in micro-nano 3D printing, the BMF team has more than 20 years of scientific research and engineering practical experience in the field of micro-machining of 3D complex structures. At present, the company has more than 130 employees worldwide, operating simultaneously in Shenzhen, Tokyo, Boston, London and Frankfurt.
According to Mordor Intelligent's data, the 3D printing market is worth USD 13.70 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach USD 63.46 billion by 2026, with a CAGR of 29.48% during the forecast period (2021-2026). With the rapid development of material composition, 3D printing is evolving from a prototyping tool to a functional part of manufacturing, and the fall in the price of 3D printing machines and growing expertise and awareness have increased the availability of 3D technology. Governments around the world have also begun to invest in research and development of 3D printing.
As a leader in high-precision additive manufacturing, BMF has carried out business cooperation with more than 1,000 enterprises and research institutes from more than 30 countries around the world, including GE Healthcare, Merck, US Johnson 3D Printing Center, Denso, Amphenol, 3M. Products are widely used in connectors, endoscopes, medical apparatus, consumer electronics, packaging, and communications industries. In the field of scientific research, they have also been approved by Hughes Research Laboratories, MIT, Nanyang Technological University, University of Nottingham, Dresden University of Technology, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and many other top universities and research institutions in the world.
3D printing has attracted a lot of companies to enter the market. Representative companies in China include Creality (创想三维), ANYCUBIC (纵维立方), FLASHFORGE (闪铸科技), Tiertime (太尔时代), Platinum (铂力特). Internationally, Shapeways in the US, Voxeljet in Germany, Materialise in Belgium, Renishaw in the United Kingdom, Prodways Group in France are quite powerful.
This round of financing was jointly led by the National Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrading Fund Stock Co., Ltd. (国家制造业转型升级基金股份有限公司), Shanghai Guotai Junan Innovation Equity Investment Master Fund Center (上海国泰君安创新股权投资母基金中心), with follow-on investments from Shanghai Zhangjiang Science&Technology Venture Capital Co., Ltd. (上海张江科技创业投资有限公司) and Chongqing Jianxin Heying Private Equity Investment Fund Partnership Enterprise (重庆健欣合盈私募股权投资基金合伙企业).
