EqualOcean has learned that Accelerating Evolution(Chinese: 加速进化), a humanoid robotics company, has completed an angel round of financing of tens of millions of RMB. The funding will be mainly used for product development and mass production, as well as team building.

Founded in 2023, Accelerating Evolution is dedicated to developing a more mobile humanoid robot body and an easy-to-develop operation and control development platform. Cheng Hao, the founder and CEO of Accelerating Evolution, is a graduate of Tsinghua University under the tutelage of Prof. Mingguo Zhao, who has studied humanoid robotics for many years during his studies and has extensive R&D experience. As a former Byte executive, he also has experience in large-scale production and research team management and complex business commercialization.

The core technology of humanoid robots consists of three parts: the big model, the motor cerebellum and the robot body. The big model brings a smarter brain for humanoid robots and the possibility of conversing with humans. However, the bottleneck of motion control for humanoid robots has not yet been significantly broken.

Accelerating Evolution's choice to start from motion control is an insight into this industry opportunity. Accelerating Evolution is one of the few teams in China capable of forward designing humanoid robots, and possesses the industry's scarce R&D experience in the bipedal/humanoid field, and its team members have accumulated rich experience in motion control algorithms and humanoid bodies.

Based on the past experience, the company was founded less than 3 months ago, has built a prototype of a humanoid robot with a self-developed configuration - using force-controlled joints, and bipedal design, hoping to develop "the most reliable, the most stable, able to complete a lot of complex movements, and sufficiently high precision" of humanoid robot. In the past, every time a robot's specifications were changed, the motion control algorithms would need to be researched all over again. Accelerating Evolution has created a motion algorithm development platform that decouples the algorithms of humanoid robots of different configurations and with different motion requirements, so that developers only need to simply adjust the configuration parameters to complete the adaptation of the humanoid robots, allowing the robots to perform a variety of different motions in a faster and lower threshold, greatly reducing the development costs of developing the robots, and allowing undergraduates to complete the matching of robots with ease.

Accelerating Evolution hopes to develop humanoid robots that are highly maneuverable, reliable, and stable. With the help of the motion algorithm development platform, it is possible to reuse and migrate algorithms for humanoid robots of different configurations and sizes. This means that when developing new products, the company can quickly launch humanoid robots for different scenarios and to meet different functional requirements, significantly reducing R&D costs and improving R&D speed.

The company will focus on the developer field in the early stage, providing humanoid robots for AI enterprises and research institutes, and quickly realizing the mass production and supply of standard products.
