Recently, Lenovo, a global leader in the digital economy, officially launched the enterprise-level ESG solution, LeGreen.
ESG
This solution utilizes digital and intelligent technologies to accelerate the low-carbon transformation of products, corporate operations, and supply chains, as well as ESG governance. It aims to enhance the carbon competitiveness of businesses within the industry and facilitate high-quality development in China's carbon reduction efforts.
The LeGreen solution, released by Lenovo, was independently developed and includes eight major functional modules: Product Carbon Footprint, Product Environmental Compliance, Organizational Carbon Management, Factory Carbon Management, Logistics Carbon Management, Supplier Carbon Management, Supplier ESG Scorecard, and Circular Economy. These "8+1" intelligent product and service solutions address the substantive issues enterprises face in ESG management. By employing digital intelligence, these solutions break down organizational barriers, enabling ESG data-driven decision-making and end-to-end process management.
At the product, LeGreen's Product Lifecycle Green Management platform supports precise calculation of product carbon footprints and provides analytical data on the product's impact on climate change and the environment. Simultaneously, this platform transforms complex regulatory requirements into systematic data packages, aiding enterprises in addressing both mandatory regulations and voluntary certifications for international markets. This significantly reduces compliance costs for companies, effectively empowering them for low-carbon transformation and sustainable development, while addressing the many challenges faced during ESG governance processes.
For instance, ESG principles are integrated throughout the entire value chain, but ESG data is scattered across various business systems, resulting in data silos that increase communication costs for cross-departmental collaboration. Upstream suppliers may also lack accuracy and timeliness in their ESG levels and carbon emission data. Faced with these challenges,Lenovo has developed a methodology and solution through its own experiences. They have created an integrated data platform to facilitate digital-assisted intelligent decision-making, supporting corporate goals such as sustainable products, net-zero emissions, and a sustainable value chain.
In recent years, with carbon neutrality and ESG becoming a global consensus, major markets worldwide, including China and the European Union, have introduced ESG compliance and information disclosure policies. This has posed regulatory and compliance challenges for business development, leading to a significant increase in product and operational compliance costs. On the other hand, with China's accelerated implementation of its dual-carbon strategy, various industries in China urgently need to expedite their own low-carbon transformations to enhance sustainable development.
Lenovo, driven by the concept of "New IT," has fully integrated and innovated ESG principles into its business and service transformation. This transformation has allowed them to evolve from being ESG leaders to being enablers. Currently, Lenovo is leveraging its ESG practices to develop ESG services and solutions that span various fields, including intelligent manufacturing, green supply chains, smart buildings, and smart cities.
