On March 26, at a press briefing convened by the State Council Information Office, Vice Minister of Commerce Guo Tingting delivered a comprehensive overview of recent production, consumption, import, and export statistics, along with pertinent policy updates. Emphasizing a collaborative effort with relevant departments, she outlined the Ministry of Commerce's agenda to foster the establishment of comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zones. This initiative aims to continuously refine policy support measures, streamline regulatory frameworks, and expedite the development of an industrial ecosystem tailored to the dynamic demands of cross-border e-commerce, all in pursuit of promoting its high-quality growth.
Of particular note is the transformative role of cross-border e-commerce in driving foreign trade expansion in China. Over recent years, the Chinese government has consistently championed innovation across cross-border e-commerce systems, management practices, and service offerings, providing robust support for its sustainable and rapid advancement.
The Ministry of Commerce has spearheaded the establishment of 165 comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zones, underpinned by an institutional framework centered around "six systems and two platforms." A suite of nearly 200 policies and measures has been introduced, yielding approximately 70 mature experiences and best practices. Additionally, the Ministry has led efforts to develop five proprietary supervision methodologies, garnering significant support and collaboration from the General Administration of Customs, thereby effectively bolstering the growth trajectory of cross-border e-commerce.
Under the auspices of policy guidance from the Ministry of Commerce, Chinese enterprises are poised to navigate cross-border e-commerce operations with heightened ease and efficacy. Through initiatives such as pilot zone construction and regulatory innovation, associated risks and financial burdens for enterprises engaging in overseas operations have been duly mitigated. The Ministry's proactive measures afford Chinese companies expanded development prospects and policy assurances, facilitating their global expansion endeavors and fostering the high-quality advancement of cross-border e-commerce.
