EqualOcean reports that "Hangkai MicroTech (航凯微电子)" has recently completed an angel round funding of several CNY million. This round was exclusively invested by "Frees Fund (峰瑞资本)", with “Kaiyuan Securities (开源资本)” serving as the sole financial advisor. The raised funds will be primarily used for product development, market expansion, and team growth.
“Hangkai MicroTech” focuses on the development of force-related sensors. Their current products include silicon-based MEMS accelerometers and multi-dimensional force sensors (including six-dimensional force sensors). The company's founder and CEO, Dr. Gai Guanghong (盖广洪), has over 20 years of experience in aerospace research. He led the development of a comprehensive force sensor system for space robotic arms, with their metal-based MEMS six-dimensional force sensor technology being globally advanced. This background has fostered a rigorous quality and research attitude within the company.
In an interview, Dr. Gai Guanghong discussed the application scenarios of six-dimensional force sensors. These sensors are crucial in smart production lines for tasks like curved surface polishing, automatic assembly, and precise object handling. They require high precision, small size, and low cost.
Currently, six-dimensional force sensors are also being used in the development and production of humanoid robots. These sensors are installed in joints such as ankles and wrists to measure load and control movements smoothly, ensuring the overall system's accuracy. “Hangkai MicroTech” aims to combine metal-based sensors with silicon-based MEMS technology to develop compact, high-precision, low-cost MEMS multi-dimensional force sensors, suitable for intelligent force control systems requiring fine force detection, small size, and multi-sensor integration.
According to MIR Industry data, the market size for six-dimensional force sensors in China was CNY 235 million in 2023, a 14.3% increase from the previous year. The market is expected to grow significantly from 2026 to 2030, driven by the mass production of humanoid robots, which will increase demand for six-dimensional force sensors and reduce production costs
