Following the meeting, Grupo Vazlo announced an investment of $42.5 million to establish an auto parts production facility in Aguascalientes. The first phase of this project is expected to create 225 new jobs in the state.
Grupo Vazlo, a Mexican company, specializes in the production, marketing, and distribution of automotive aftermarket parts. The company currently operates in international markets including the United States, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Lebanon, and Israel. Grupo Vazlo is headquartered in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, and also has distribution centers in several Mexican cities including Celaya, Guadalajara, Puebla, Mérida, and Veracruz.
Rafael Conzuelo, Project Director for Grupo Vazlo's new venture, explained that the expansion in Aguascalientes will be executed in two phases. In the first phase, Grupo Vazlo will construct a central distribution center for auto parts and a company office building within the Santa Fe Technopark industrial park, covering a total area of 31,000 square meters. This center will enhance the logistics and distribution capabilities of automotive parts within Mexico.
In the second phase, the company plans to build a metal parts manufacturing plant in the southern part of Aguascalientes' capital. This plant will increase Grupo Vazlo's production capacity and diversify its product offerings. Currently, Grupo Vazlo's catalog includes over 4,300 auto parts, with 271 parts manufactured in Mexico, such as engine mounts, transmissions, and dust covers. Governor Tere Jiménez expressed on her social media, "With this investment, Aguascalientes will continue to strengthen its position as a leading state for attracting investments."
