On February 24, He Xiaopeng, CEO of XPeng (小鹏汽车), issued an internal letter to employees titled “Steady Progress and Breakthrough: Advancing into the Next Decade of Physical AI in 2026.” In the letter, he stated that 2026 will mark a critical turning point for XPeng in embodied intelligence, shifting from technological capability to large-scale mass production.

He outlined XPeng’s strategic vision to become the world’s first technology company to achieve mass production of robots, flying cars, and Robotaxi vehicles within the same year. In the Robotaxi segment, He revealed that pilot operations of ride-hailing models will begin this year, with the business expected to enter an initial high-growth phase between 2027 and 2028, potentially driving significant increases in the company’s revenue, valuation, and market momentum.

XPeng’s next-generation IRON robot is also scheduled to begin mass production by year-end, targeting what the company describes as the world’s first high-level humanoid robot produced at scale. He said the robot will meet “automotive-grade AI agent” standards and will first be deployed in guided tour and retail assistant scenarios, with an SDK to be opened to global developers in the future.

Meanwhile, the pilot production line for XPeng’s modular flying car, the “Land Aircraft Carrier,” has successfully rolled off the line and is expected to achieve scaled production and deliveries within the year. The product is intended to further diversify XPeng’s mobility portfolio and could play an important role in future transportation ecosystems.

On overseas expansion, He said XPeng plans to launch at least four new models by 2026 and aims to double overseas sales. By 2030, the company targets annual overseas sales of one million vehicles, contributing more than 70% of total profits.

To support these ambitions, He also announced plans to add 8,000 global employees in 2026, including 5,000 campus hires, underscoring XPeng’s aggressive push to build talent capacity for its next phase of growth.
