The communication giant is helping China's government build the largest 5G network in the world and is considering further 5G popularization.
Recently, according to the CEO of China Mobile, Jie Yang, the company has made plans to achieve 5G full-coverage in all county-level cities of China in 2021. China Mobile has always been the leader in 5G network development. By the end of last year, the company had opened 390,000 base stations, providing 5G services for all prefecture-level cities and some key counties in China. At the same time, it has attracted over 165 million 5G users, surging 65 times compared with levels in December 2019 (2.55 million), which is far higher than the alliance of China Telecom and China Unicom.
China has built the world's largest 5G network Infrastructure. Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released that, by now, China has opened more than 700,000 5G base stations in the mainland and connected over 200 million 5G terminals. Yaqing Xiao, the minister of MIIT, said that the government will keep promoting the construction and application development of the 5G network and will build more than 600,000 5G base stations by the end of 2021.
