Telenor and Perodua have announced a strategic partnership to drive electric vehicle (EV) development, digital innovation and sustainable growth in the Malaysian automotive industry. The partnership focuses on four key areas: hyperconnectivity, advancing digital technologies, enriching customer experience and environmental sustainability.

Through its enterprise and government sector solutions arm, TM One, Telenor will provide Perodua with upgraded infrastructure, including fixed and wireless connectivity, SD-WAN solutions for dealer networks, and dedicated 5G for automotive applications. the partnership also aims to implement smart manufacturing technologies to enhance Perodua's operations.

TM One will leverage its expertise in cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics and AI to support initiatives in smart manufacturing, GPU-as-a-Service, and electric vehicle and autonomous driving technologies.

The companies plan to expand their market reach through co-created products and innovative marketing strategies. This includes the development of customized infotainment systems, smart mapping solutions and joint digital marketing campaigns.

Environmental sustainability is also a focus of the partnership, with plans to collaborate on clean energy solutions for electric vehicle charging infrastructure and waste reduction programs.

The partnership between Telstra and Perodua is expected to make a significant contribution to Malaysia's automotive industry, in line with the country's New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030). By focusing on digital innovation, electric vehicle development and sustainable practices, the partnership aims to create a more competitive and high-value automotive industry in Malaysia.
