The pandemic has accelerated the manifestation of business creativity and digitalization in China. Beijing, the nation’s center of international exchange and technological innovation, is the home of the Chaoyang district, the hub for the diplomats who are very much a part of China’s digital transformation.
EqualOcean, a global information provider and investment research firm, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting – starting from July 2020 – the ‘Data Intelligence & New Infrastructure Track,’ alongside Beijing Chaoyang High-level Talent Service Center, as part of the Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (OTEC).
The top three candidates will be awarded startup sponsorship of between CNY 1,000,000 and CNY 200,000. Prizes are not limited to only monetary benefit – they also include free incubation, CEO training and tutoring, connection with domestic investors, media coverage, visas, policy consultation, etc. People from all over the world are invited to participate, from returned overseas talents, foreigners who are based in China, to all entrepreneurs across the globe who are interested in setting their feet in Beijing. All projects that signed up to the Data Intelligence Track will go through three rounds of – mostly virtual – competition leading up to the final contest.
After August 21st, the deadline for entry, the virtual preliminary rounds will take place for one month, until the expected final contest date in Beijing, September 5th. There is a consistent factor that leads to startup success – having great mentors. Both for the virtual and in-person phases of the contest, in-depth communications between senior mentors and contestants are guaranteed. We believe startup leaders will benefit greatly from the mentorship of VPs at well-known venture capital firms.

Competition Timeline
The contest will be open to registration until August 21st. At least 100 entrepreneurial teams or companies will be invited to sign up. The organizing committee will select 30 projects to enter the online preliminaries.
The project preliminary selection includes a four-minute founder’s presentation, a four-minute of judges conducting questions and answers exchange, and a two-minute of judges’ comments in the form of an online closed-door roadshow, about 10 projects are shortlisted for the final contest on September 5th.
The final will be held in the form of "summit + competition + connection" online and offline. Finally, the first, second, and third prize will be selected, one winner for each prize.
About the Track
The Data Intelligence & New Infrastructure Track is one of the seven tracks, the others being Industrial Internet, Data Intelligence & New Infrastructure, Service & Consumption Upgrade, Smart City, Medical & Health, Entertainment & Sports – and the ‘X’ special track by Global Entrepreneurship Competition.
All projects that signed up at Data Intelligence Track will go through three rounds of competition for first-round screening, online preliminary and finals. The top three will be awarded startup sponsorship of between CNY 1,000,000 and CNY 200,000.
As well as the financial investment, winners receive free incubation, CEO training and tutoring, connection with domestic investors, media coverage, visa, policy consultation, etc.
The top 10 will be entitled to: smaller packages from the RMB 1,000,000 to RMB 100,000 purse; free incubation space + investor connections; ‘fast lane’ assistance with business registration and working permits; HR, policy, finance, visa consultation and other rewards that fit into ‘Phoenix Plan.’

Can I participate remotely?
Yes, you can! You can participate in the whole competition remotely. (But we highly recommend you to join our offline finals in Beijing).
Can my company participate if we are not registered in Beijing Chaoyang?
Yes, it won't matter. As long as you meet the participant requires listed above. You are qualified to join the competition.

Who can represent my project to apply or present?
Anyone from your projects can sign up or present for you. But we highly recommend someone who knows your project the most (such as CEO or Founder) to be the presenter.
