On December 9-11, 2020, EqualOcean will host this year's World Innovators Meet (WIM). WIM2020 will take on a bolder stance and adopt a more global outlook by taking the form of an online conference that will be streamed simultaneously in all countries and regions that champion the realm of technology and innovation.
During the World Innovators Meet, the WIM Committee will release the annual blockbuster WIA list, the World Innovation Awards, based on our annual industry and investment research findings, together with a series of research reports.
Prof. Tian is currently Associate Dean and JD Capital Chair Professor of Finance at PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. He is also the 'Cheung Kong Scholar' and Distinguished Professor, the director of the Global Merger & Acquisition Research Center and the director of the Finance MBA program at the PBC School of Finance of Tsinghua University. Focusing on the international financial market, he created a financial talent training system that integrates Chinese and foreign financial theories and the latest practices, and has cultivated many outstanding financial talents who base their work on the Chinese market, drawing in international perspectives.
Speaking at the 2020 Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum, Prof. Tian said: “First, education should have nothing to do with control, but it is about expectation and care with mutual respect. We should respect each person's characteristics so that we can cultivate talents in a better way. Second, we need a more relaxed education supervision. We should allow universities and primary and middle school students to set diversified education goals and encourage students to develop in a diversified way. The society should be more diversified with a diversity of talents. Third, we also need diversified trial and error, which is important to the training of financial talents. Finance is one of the most important sectors across all the industries. Only when we give full play to human nature and individual characteristics, can we better cultivate these innovative talents.”
Given that China is playing a more important role in the new era of globalization, Prof. Tian will shed new insights on China's economic development. We are excited to hear his take on how to train financial and tech talents in the new global context.
