Unlike other smartphone manufacturers entering the automobile manufacturing industry, Huawei aims to provide targeted intelligent vehicle solutions for auto manufacturers.
On April 18, Huawei Intelligent Vehicle Solutions' new product launch was held in the Shanghai auto show. The conference announced Huawei's new ideas and new technologies as part of the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry, which will bring users a whole new driving experience in the form of intelligent vehicles. As these industry trends develop, Huawei's venture will set new standards for intelligent vehicles and infrastructure.
At the press conference, Huawei released five new products, including the Hongmeng OS intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving computing platform mdc810, 4D imaging radar, 'Huawei Octopus' automatic driving open platform and an intelligent thermal management system.
Among them, the Hongmeng OS intelligent cockpit stands out as a device that can profoundly improve user experience – it incorporates the Kirin car machine module with an independent NPU, which can do complex processing; this can restore 'true color' to the display, allowing customers to experience a car smart screen without reliance on Caton touch and AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Heads-Up display) with smaller volume, larger field of vision and high-definition display.
In addition, Huawei has built a small, high-performance AR-HUD. Its volume is only 10L, and the projection area adjusts according to the user's eye position. The viewing angle can also reach 13 ° x ﹣ 5 ° to show more content. At the same time, it can have a 70 inch frame at a distance of 7.5m, with high-definition image quality, so that users can experience the immersive visual experience and driving safety assistance brought by AR-HUD.
In addition to the upgrade of intelligent cockpit, the 4D imaging radar is also worthy of attention. Huawei's high-resolution 4D imaging radar adopts 12t24r large antenna array (12 transmitting channels and 24 receiving channels), which is 24 times higher than the antenna configuration of conventional millimeter wave radar at 3t4r, and carries 50% more receiving channels than the industry's typical imaging radar. This is the largest array imaging radar that can be produced at present.
At the same time, the 4D imaging radar developed by Huawei inherits the excellent range and velocity measurement capability of traditional millimeter wave radar, and is not affected by light, rain and snow, as well as the unique detection capability of non line of sight blocked targets.
Huawei also announced the mass production of MDC 810 intelligent driving computing platform. The platform is an intelligent driving computing platform with mass production and maximum computing power in the industry, which can meet the needs of high-level automatic driving application scenarios such as congestion tracking (TJP), high-speed cruise (HWP) and automatic parking (AVP). At present, MDC 810 has taken the lead in carrying the model 'ARCFOX Polar Fox Alpha S' which has been put into mass production. In the future, more new models carrying different MDC series products will be released.
The Huawei Octopus automatic driving open platform is based on the core autopilot hardware: data, high-precision maps and algorithms. The system allows a radical upgradable standard of autopilot, simulation, Cloud connectivity and "compliance efficiency."
Not only that, Huawei also announced its integrated thermal management system, the TMS. This can reduce the working temperature of the heat pump from - 10 ℃ (standard in the industry) to - 18 ℃, using a minimalist architecture, component compression and integrated design. The efficiency of the TMS will increase the endurance of new energy vehicles by 20%. At the same time, it can improve the user experience through personalization, building a temperature experience maximizing comfort and sustainability at once.
