SHANGHAI, China, June 21, 2021 /Dada Group/ – Dada Group (DADA:NASDAQ) ('Dada'), China's leading local on-demand delivery and retail platform, today announced record sales during the 2021 6.18 Shopping Festival (the 'Festival'), China's major mid-year online shopping event, held this year from June 1 to June 20.

Dada's on-demand retail platform, JDDJ, reported that transaction volumes doubled from June 1 to June 18, 2021, compared to the same period last year. Sales in several categories, including mobile phones, digital devices, cosmetics products and home appliances, all increased by more than double last year's amount. At the festival's peak, June 18, JDDJ exceeded CNY 300 million, setting a single-day record for fresh sales. On the same day, the number of orders delivered by Dada Now, Dada's on-demand delivery platform, far exceeded last year. Of note, digital devices and catering were the fastest-growing categories. Dada Now achieved an overall delivery fulfillment rate of more than 99%.
During this year's 6.18 Shopping Festival, one-hour home delivery, provided by JDDJ, covered more than 1,500 counties and cities across China. Consumption in lower-tier cities was further stimulated by the on-demand economy. During the Festival, sales in some lower-tier cities increased by more than 500% year-on-year. Sales of digital devices, health care products, baking gifts, pet toys, and cosmetics in lower-tier cities, all increased by more than 400% compared with last year on the JDDJ platform.
Based on the deepening omni-channel strategic cooperation between Dada Group and JD.com, more than 60,000 retail stores launched on JD.com through JDDJ on June 18. During the Grand Promotion, sales of these offline stores on JD.com were 4.6 times those of the Double 11 Shopping Festival last year.
Among supermarkets on JDDJ, Walmart remained the sales leader at chain supermarkets for the fifth consecutive year. Sales of Yonghui Supermarket in the lower-tier cities were 2.1 times greater than the same period last year. CR Vanguard's sales increased 2.2 times, and sales from their boutique supermarkets increased four times compared to the same period last year.
In terms of the intra-city delivery, Dada Now's Dedicated Delivery service is designed specifically for chain merchants, providing customized solutions to help them reliably guarantee online order fulfillment during the shopping festivals. During the 6.18 festival, delivery orders from Sam's Club were 2.8 times more than the same period last year.
For orders that require faster delivery times, Dada Now riders delivered products to consumers within 30 minutes on average, during this year's Festival. High-value orders such as digital devices, home appliances and certificate documents, were automatically matched with Credit Riders for delivery, ensuring a seamless and safe delivery experience.
At the same time, Dada's Smart Distribution Software as a Service (SaaS) system, which is based on Dada Now's self-developed smart logistics system and big data platform, offers merchants rider management, smart delivery and crowdsourcing business for different delivery scenarios. Dada Smart Distribution SaaS system helped chain merchants and distribution service providers, such as JD Liquor World, to increase the efficiency of their rider teams by about 20% and shorten the average order delivery time by about 8 minutes during the 6.18 Festival.
