XPeng Motors will form a combination of G3i, P5 and P7 this year, but as a brand that targets the mid- to high-end market, it will naturally not be satisfied with the layout of just one compact SUV.
XPeng's previous prospectus for its Hong Kong listing showed that it will release an SUV in 2022, based on the Edward platform of the XPeng P7.
Enter the Camouflage, a mid-size SUV positioned well above the regular version of the XPeng P7. The platform could cover a wheelbase range of 2.8m-3.1m, with interior space perhaps reaching the level of the BMW X5.
The car will be equipped with Xpilot 4.0 autonomous driving system and two LIDARs similar to the P5's but with better performance, and the computing platform may be replaced with Orin.
XPeng's ultra-high voltage fast charging, intelligent chassis and air suspension system will be equipped in the SUV, and it may include 2WD and 4WD versions.
