On October 27, LONGI announced that the company had achieved 25.85% for its commercial sized HJT (hetero-junction) solar cells. The new record surpassed the benchmark of 25.26%, which was also set by LONGI. The testing was validated and carried out at the German Institut für Solarenergieforschung.

LONGI's focus on its R&D has led to the company's leading position in the global energy transformation field. The company's technological innovation allowed the company to break its own world record just five months after. According to the company's statement, R&D accounts for over 5% of its sales revenue, which is why LONGI is on the leading edge of innovation in solar cell technology.

The company also holds the world record of 24.06% for efficiency of mono-crystalline bifacial PERC solar cells, 25.19% for efficiency of P-Type TOPCon cells, and 25.21% for efficiency of N-type TOPCon cells.
