Hunan Vathin Medical Instrument Co., Ltd (Chinses: 华芯医疗), which specializes in  the production, development, and sales of single-use bronchoscopes, has raised hundreds of  millions of CNY in a Series A+ funding round.

Yuwell Group (Chinese: 鱼跃医疗) and Sharewin Investment (Chinese: 盛宇投资) were the co-investors, with WinX Capital (Chinese: 凯乘资本) serving as the financial advisor. The fund raised from this round will be used to expand production capacity and build global distribution channels.

In October 2021, Vathin achieved the first single-use bronchoscopes registration certificate in China, and its digital video monitor was approved for sale in the United States in March 2022, a step that cemented the company’s position in the global market for single-use bronchoscope.

Vathin is a leader in global single-use bronchoscopes, thanks to surging orders from the international market. Its single-use bronchoscopes have acquired registration certificates from FDA, CE, NMPA and drug watchdogs in Japan and South Korea.

Meanwhile, Vathin has cooperated with Boston Scientific and TKB; Olympus is its general agent in the United States.

Public information shows that single-use bronchoscopes are replacing reusable bronchoscopes. Amid China’s recurring COVID-19 outbreaks and its Zero-COVID policy, single-use bronchoscope has flourished, owing to its merit of preventing cross infection and lowering costs.

In addition, its ease of use helps increase its competitive advantage in global and domestic bronchoscopes markets.

Access to international markets for Vathin means more opportunities and competitions. As a new player founded in 2018, Vathin is facing challenges from established competitors such as Ambu A/S, Neoscope Inc, and Axess Vission Technology.
