Shenzhen Sonosemi Medical Technology (Chinese: 赛禾医疗) bagged hundreds of millions of CNY from investors including Alwin Capital, Fu Rong Capital, Eight Roads, Ruijian Venture Capital and Jiuzhi Xinfei.
Founded in April 2020 and headquartered in Shenzhen, Sonosemi specializes in the field of pan-vascular diseases, aiming to becoming the world's leading platform for implanted interventional medical devices. It has established a research and development team from well-known medical device and ICT companies, with rich experience in biomaterials, electronic engineering and other fields.
Sonosemi has made rapid progress in shockwave lithotripsy technology. Its self-developed coronary shockwave lithotripsy system – the first of its kind in China - has now begun clinical enrollment. This system consists of a shockwave coronary balloon catheter and an internal shockwave therapy device with an operating handle that controls the intravascular lithotripsy treatment; it is equipped with safety, convenience and reliability.
To date, Sonosemi has applied for over 70 patents of various types and more than 20 integrated circuit layout design registration certificates, breaking the technological monopoly of international medical device giants in this field.
The company has also now established an integrated platform for diagnosis and treatment around ultrasound technology and medical transducers. Moreover, this young company has independently developed intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) in the diagnostic field, in an attempt to fill the gap in this field for homegrown products.
